Stephanie is a keen musician, relishing both the performance and teaching aspects of music. Stephanie’s own musical education began at the age of nine, as she quickly progressed into various ensembles, enabled by the Dudley Performing Arts programme. She graduated into the Senior Wind Band, Brass Band and the Dudley Schools Symphonic Orchestra culminating in a tour of Germany in 2006.
As a member of the Halesowen Scout Band Stephanie was given the opportunity to experience a very different side to music, where she met and marched with many fellow musicians nationwide. She benefitted from tuition from Royal Marine musicians on annual camps and competed in World Showband championships in locations as varied as Germany and Canada, and performed in prominent venues such as Alton Towers, Birmingham NIA and Disney Land Paris.
Stephanie read Music at Huddersfield University, fuelling her love of playing in intimate ensembles. Since having graduated in 2008, she has performed in various productions and began teaching music professionally, even conducting some smaller brass ensembles.
Currently residing in County Durham, Stephanie teaches both individual and larger groups of children. She is a member of the Northern Winds Quintet and plays with the Northumberland Orchestral Society. Over recent years Stephanie has particularly enjoyed performing as a soloist with ‘Hunters Moon’ and working as a brass teacher with Music Partnership North.
